A CHAVENAGE HOUSE WEDDING

I fell a little bit in love with Philippa & James, during our engagement session in the summertime. Philippa is stylish and poised and has the coolest wry smile that I absolutely loved photographing, so I was certain that their Cotswolds wedding in July was going to be a treat.

You can have a look through Philippa’s blog here, over at: Inspired Winter. She’s a fashion designer, so it’s always worth stopping-by to see where she’s been looking for inspiration.

We’re just two days until the end of 2010 and I am very pleased to say that it has been astonishing. I’ve photographed more beautiful weddings than I could have dreamt of (33 to be precise), visited new countries, gasped at dresses, cried during vows, laughed aloud during speeches and witnessed some incredible moments. I am grateful to you, 2010 for all the experiences that you’ve brought me.

I’m now looking ahead to what is set to be an even more amazing year in 2011, with weddings here and abroad to look forward to alongside a mountain of portrait sessions with more interesting individuals. We’re slowing the pace a little in the next few weeks, but there is still a lot to come.

It is impossible not to be happy in the presence of Adam and Sophie. They are so very much in love with each other, you in turn find yourself falling a little bit in love with them. They laugh a lot and make you smile, they’re kind and affectionate, relaxed and real and as I discovered one day in Brighton, the kind of people you feel like you’ve always known. They also have a habit of making the sun shine, which was perfect for our morning wandering around for their pre-wedding photos.

Megan & Nathan got married on a sweet, still day in May.  I started the morning with Megan at the Haymarket Hotel where she was getting ready with a pretty little entourage of glamorous friends and family.

Thank you Meg & Nate, for inviting us as guests and for having me photograph your lovely wedding.

In the five weeks since I last blogged, I have photographed four weddings in London, a wedding in Tuscany and a wedding in Rome atop a castle. I’ve been to the south of France, fallen in love with St Tropez, photographed an intimate elopement, flown back to Tuscany to photograph another sweet little wedding, and spent two glorious days in the unexpected London sunshine with a wedding at Northbook Park and a very first True Mod wedding.

We’ll be making up for lost time next week with a glamorous wedding in Provence, full of sunshine, smiles and our ever-gorgeous Georgia.

Ella & Sam made it into Cosmopolitan Bride’s June/July issue. It’s so exciting to see some of my photos in print in an actual magazine I’ve bought before. Thanks so much to Miranda & Cathy at Cosmo-who are most lovely.
Have a great weekend-I plan to spend it be buried under a mountain of editing!
  • A WEDDING AT ONE MARYLEBONE

Kate & Tom were the first clients I met after a long flight home from Australia in January. We had a drink at The Alice House and talked for hours and I knew before I’d left, that we had become friends. Their wedding was just beautiful. Kate shone, Tom grinned, they both said I do and I cried just a little bit, from the sheer love of it all.

  • THE PERFECT ELOPEMENT

I often get asked what my best ever wedding was to photograph. I think people expect me to say ‘the one at Westminster Abbey’ or ‘the little one in Italy’, when really my most favourite weddings, however cliché, are the ones that are all about love. Venues are chic and expensive dresses are beautiful, but give me a couple happy and in love and I couldn’t ask for anything more. These two individuals decided to elope. They chose a place where they could exchange their vows and spend the weekend, calm and content. They chose their outfits, the day for their promises and then they chose me. I really couldn’t be more grateful sharing days like these.
